Question Just when I decided to keep cart I have a light issue....HELP!

I did use search feature and found lots of info but it seemed that every scenerio was a little different do Ill ask:
Put new Trojan T-875 in cart about 1 month ago. All was well but cart did feel a little sluggish and lacking tourque.
I change out all cables with new ones except main ground that goes through frame. Used cart for a few days with no issues.
One evening we were leaving for cruise and flipped lights on then "pop" headlights both went out but tail and brake lights still worked.
I took out headlights and noticed they were both blown. The were 12v 50 watt. I replaced with 2 new 12v 37 watts and now nothing works except brake lights only(no tail lights)? If it helps my tail-brake lights are LED .
I have power at switch, at both headlights.
Do I need to go back too 50 watt headlights? Is having the LED tail-brake lights causing the issue?
I only went to less watt headlights because I they had the "white" style in 37 watts and thought the color would be different and draw a smaller amount of power?

Thanks for any suggestions!!!!

Update...
I do not know what happened but I started to chase down wiring in hpes to find a bad ground.
I did find 2 suspect wires behind left rear taillight that are connected together and appear to have been riveted to something? The stem of rivet was corroded and fell off but wires still connected and hanging loose.
I decided that tomorrow I would tackle this issue.
Then honked my horn once(just too make sure it worked and my lights came on.
I drove cart around block over a few bumps to see if a loose wire was now making contact but they did not flicker or anything and now work?

Very confused?!?

When posting always show make, model, year, battery total voltage, and any changes done to cart, as this will help with diagnosing problems. Do you have a digital meter, if so test for voltage at head lights, I think you will find much more than 12 volts? Are you using a voltage reducer, or battery taps to feed lighting? It could be that when you replaced batterys that some of the wiring got connected incorrectly? LED light shouldnt give you any problem if installed correctly, and save alot of battery power.
Remember that "ALL ELECTRIC CARTS MUST NOT HAVE ANYTHING FRAME GROUNDED"

are you using FRAME GROUNDING on an electric vehicle? I see now why you want to sell it... hope the new owner has a little more reading/math/electrical skills than you... (and deep pockets)

WTF---digging up old threads to needlessly bash people looking for help

Where does it say it was frame grounded?? Many times electrical eyelets will be riveted together to form a multi-wire connection. Possibly your ground wires for the 2 tail lights and then a ground wire forward to the battery area all had eyelets attatched at thet ends and then they were riveted together to form a nice thight connection. maybe

This is a Hurricane Ike cart? So corrosive connections would be my first guess. You just have to start at the source for your 12v circuit and trouble shoot to the switch, then test the switch thru a dozen cycles, and on to the lights themselves. A simple enough task. But like Gaston said, no chassis grounds are to be used on an electric cart, so you will want to eliminate them and run ground wires to all 12v fixtures!

My bad oxfordlawn, I might miss read this part then:
'I change out all cables with new ones except main ground that goes through frame.'

So I rephrase that part of only.

I guess I assumed that grounding was going through frame when he was referring to the ground wire that was going through frame?

Now, to your 1st statement, I was not needlessly bashing people looking for help. Not my style, I just came up with his ad http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/golf-...ston-area.html on the for sale section and was interested to see what he was posting in the past about his cart. Just doing my homework...
By the way a week and half thread with no answers is an old thread?

Sorry again for the misunderstanding.
