Motor Choice
I have a 02 CC carry all With 3.1 special service model motor. With a 300amp Curtis controler. 4GA wiring . Would changing the motor to a Ge D377 give me a little more speed with out loss of torque?

Re: Motor Choice
I have a D377 with a 480 amp controller with head pulling torque and speeds in the mid 20's. I love the set up, but usually you will loose some torque with speed. I am not sure what kind of torque you are getting now, but if you upgraded the controller and went with the D377 you will get a great combination.

Re: Motor Choice
There are alot of good motors and best advice is do your homework before you buy. Some are rebuilt tin can motors, some are new....alot of times you get what you pay for. I have bought motors from EMP, D&D, PQ all with good results.

Gentelmen
When I said with out loss of torque, I meant compared to the CC 3.1 motor. |

Re: Motor Choice
As far as I know, any motor that will give you an increase in speed will in turn give you a decrease in torque. Thats why most of us that replace a standard motor with a high speed motor, will also upgrade the controller and wiring to keep low end torque. The other option would be a 2 speed motor from EMP. It uses a secondary F&R switch to change from torque to speed.
