Rear end noise
Ha Ha I know It's not the kind of rear end noise you're thinking about
I have 2 mid eighties CC electric rear ends that are growling something fierce. We have disassembled and inspected them. Can't find anything wrong but the noise is coming from the Spider cluster. Is this because the gears are just worn beyond tolerance?... what can be done to fix this? These rear ends are getting harder to find and parts are no longer made? I wondered if welding the spiders up as in full time posi will quiet the noise? I would buy new or used parts if somebody has them? Waddaya think? Thanks in advance |

Agree with birdman. I don't know there, but down here, huge hassle to try somebody to make those gears, you don't even want to go over the whole thing. I got tired to waste money on that. |

Re: Rear end noise
This makes the most sense but they are really hard to find here... all 25 yr old CC still on the road. Better record than Ford or Chevy Last one we junked the broken and rotted $100 ds for the rear end ....getting harder to find a junk CC?

Re: Rear end noise
I doubt you would want to bother with this but I'll throw it out there. Golf cart junk yard in Al. 800-262-6861. Just a thought.

Re: Rear end noise
I'm just not 100% sure that is the part we need ..... has anyone else had the constant growling problem in an old CC? It seems like the spiders to us but not sure?
