Default '85 DS SOC meter wiring...

I installed a State Of Charge meter in my '85 5-solenoid project cart. I assumed I could pick up pack voltage from the keyswitch like I can in an EZ-Go sparky, but the keyswitch is only showing 10.8v.

Questions:
Is this voltage correct?
If correct, where can I pickup pack voltage that turns on and off with the keyswitch?

If the voltage cannot be picked up I will run wires to the pack and install a toggle to control the SOC meter, something less than desireable.

Wish I could help but I am not POSITIVE on this one.
But I will say the way I understood these to work is the key switches full positive side voltage, then thru a microswitch, and then onto the solenoids to supply power to the solenoids. The speed control microswitches supply the respective ground signal to trigger the solenoids for different speeds. So I am thinking you have a problemonly getting 10.?volts at the switch...but again I am not CERTAIN of this so hopefully ScottyB will pop in and set it straight if I am wrong on this.

PS I have that one also...Its been acting up as of lately but I think it may be due to some other wiring recently that I have tapped off the ground and power feeds...someday I will check it out.--tired of working on it.

Hey Gorno , I do not have a older resistor cart, but he 48 Volt non-resister carts do read 48 Volts at the Key.
I would be amazed just looking at the wiring Diagram on the older carts if they also did not read pack Voltage ?
Is this a 2 wire meter if ?

I don't have a 5 solenoid here to check but, according to the wiring diagram it should have 36v negative current at the key switch.... When you tested it are you certain you had a 36v positive connection at the other end ofthe meter?
The keyswitch power comes from battery #6 NEG via the charger connection. The key switches the F&R micro, check your voltage there also?
