Is this a good deal for a cart?
http://richmond.craigslist.org/rvs/1364629988.html
Owner says he'll go to $3000. He wouldn't take my offer of $2500. Said he has more in it than that. He started at $3800 Aug. 24th. It's a 1990 model. I drove it and it runs out fine. Just wondering if I'm getting myself in for a lot of repair work on such an old cart. |

Seems on the high end to me.
Just like most things, we never get out of something when we want to sell it what we have in it. |

He admitted he bought it to flip it. He hasn't done anything to it. He bought it this way.
I'm looking for a cart as a birthday present for my wife. She's been wanting one. Tough to part with that much $$ knowing it's something else I have to maintain. |

Without knowing what kind of lift is on the cart it is difficult to judge. Cart looks too high priced to me. Nice cart, except for the cheesey head/tail lights.

Re: Is this a good deal for a cart?
That cart looks good, but if it is a stock 90 its a vglide resistor cart. Old drive system unless it has been converted to a controller? You can buy a much newer stock cart for that kind of money.

Re: Is this a good deal for a cart?
Let me rephrase the answers I think I'm seeing -
No - It is not a good deal for that cart. It is a 1990 with older electronics. 20 year old carts are 20 year old carts, no matter how nice the paint and accessories. |

Re: Is this a good deal for a cart?
The old vglide resistor setups which a 90 would be are not as efficent as the newer electronic controller carts are. The resistor coils heat up and get hot and stinking running at slow speeds, and they use the same voltage at low speeds as high speeds. Clear as mud right? Maybe someone else can clear it up a little.

Re: Is this a good deal for a cart?
Even thought I'm a noob, I agree that the price is a bit high for a 1990 cart. I just bought a 1990 Club Car DS for $800.00 in West-Central Florida. Granted it is stock mostly stock (has custom paint), but it runs great with no mechanical issues. There aren't enough options on this cart to justify the $3K price tag and they don't indicate if it comes with a charger either.
