Dry Batteries
Will batteries that has sat 2 years and now dry inside be revived by water and a charge?

Re: Dry Batteries
Crapshoot, cover the plates with distilled water and charge em up and see what happens.

Re: Dry Batteries
You can bring em up with a 12 volt charger on low setting, stay with them and be careful.

Re: Dry Batteries
Sorry to say it is a waste of time and money to try try to revive dry 2 years of setting batteries. I will bet the price of a new set of Trojans that you cannot make em come backl to a servicable pack no matter what you try...... Not worth a try in my book.

Re: Dry Batteries
If you have more time than money then try.
If you have the $$ the go for new , since even if these come back partially they wont last long |

Re: Dry Batteries
You may get them back so you can play for very short periods of time. I did this with mine. They last about 30 minutes at most. However, I am not sure what the long term effects will be. |

Re: Dry Batteries
I did that to my dads txt. The charger was struck by lightning and the batteries sat dry for about a year and a half. They charged up but didn't run but 20 mins. the first time.
The second charge they did better....etc.... Now they will last a solid 45 minutes until they fade, fast. My parents are in their eighties and don't drive far so thats more than enough for them. If they will come back or not, is not the question, but if the will come back enough for what you want them to do. |
