Charger Voltage
What should a 48 volt charger read while charging.I am getting 50.1 volts with it pluged into cart and charging. It is a powerdrive. Sometime the yellow batt light on dash blinks also when charger is running.

Re: Charger Voltage
It will start out really high and then gradually fall as the meter(amp) gets to the lower Numbers. But 50.1 sounds VERY low for a 48 Volt charger while it is charging.
Wait until charger stops then after 30 minutes measure the Pack it should be at about 51 Volts for a good battery pack at 100% charge. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...-readings.html |

Re: Charger Voltage
I just repaired a bad charger, had a bad relay, when I verified this I bypassed the relay hooking up the coil right to the circuit breaker, I plugged into to AC and then used my meter on the DC output (the part that plugs into the cart) If my memory serves me right it was putting out around 56v not connected to anything.
