I checked the wires comming out of the gas peddle box as per a post I found but my wires are purple,yellow,white-black stripe,green-white stripe.
I checked the yellow & white-black stripe and I started with 3 ohm the pushed the peddle down slowly it first went to 3.2 ohm then went down.

sounds like you may have found problem it should start at 5K ohm then down to 0 as peddle is depressed.

We need to identify which type of speed control you have. where is it located and what color and shape is it? Is it possible for you to post a pic of it? I am pretty sure I have one?

Hay Scotty
got the part thanks.
But it is still going full speed only, foward and reverse.
However it seems to be faster than it was before.
Any ideas on what might cause this.

Thanks Pete

Check the POT again and see if it is giving you the same ohm reading, it will be the 2 wires going from the Box into your controller ?

Post results ( set Volt meter so you are reading K ohms ) !
