Default Do I have a problem...???

1993 Club Car ... 36 volts..Stock....If I jack up the rear end and get the rear wheels off the ground then engage the throttle, should both wheels spin...?? In my case the right spins and left left does not....While running if I try and help the left wheel I think it trys but no go..
Now no noise no grinding..and the lube is good/full

Around the house the car, is fine on the road its fine just maybe a little thump-thump-thump-!!

What do I have....?

Thanks,

-Bill

One wheel spinning is normal.... It is a non posi rear end.... As far as the thump goes I have no clue? A bubble on the tire? I dunno!

I'm lost on the thump, thump, thump...

Everything else sounds normal

Just a thought and more of a question to those that know more than me.
What about the rubber snubber between the motor and the rear end?
Or the motor bearings?

Never heard a bearing thump? I have pulled axles where the balls fell out and the race was in pieces but still no thump..... prolly a tire or loose wheel?

I jacked up the rear end and was going to pull the right rear...Now I'm the guy who put the tires on in ther first place ...new mags..used a 3/4 socket set and tighten them snug and then another quarter of a turn..Now when I went to pull the wheel, I had to block up the wheels, and used a 30 inch extended lug wrench, and I really had to pull to brake them loose....Hey I'm 6'3"" - 250#, and I picked the cart off the ground before they broke free...???
When I got the wheel off it turned better ....BUT.....its a free as a bell for 3/4of the turn then tightens down....oh it will move but not as free as the 3/4's...I adjusted the breaks and it feels much better....
But maybe as above the bearings are shot!!!

Thanks To all For the Great Info..

Did you run over Grandma?!?!?!?!

More than likely it's just a tire issue!

Bill Look at the inside of your tire it may be rubbing on the spring !? Is it wider than stock? Still sounds like a tire problem.....

The bearing I was thinking of is the motor bearing, not the axle bearings.

Cart tires are usually a little out of balance either due to alignment on mounting or uneven perimeter weight. Some can even be a little out of round. Jack up the cart and take a small stick or pencil to hold between tire and floor then rotate the tire by hand, so can see if the tire varies, etc. Bearings tend to "grind" or "growl" not "thump". The rubber bumper you refer to is the plastic motor spline alignment piece on the end of the motor shaft that keeps the free end of the shaft motor from floating, when worn it usually causes a "clicking" on de-exceleration rather than a bumping sound. Check your tires, I have had to deflate and remount tires to get them seated properrly in order to stop a "bumping". Keep at it, you will find it.
