Lifted Car & larger tires now its much slower please help
Hello I am new to the site but love it so far! I have 2002 Club Car 48v that works geat Cart was very fast, and I just installed a Jakes lift kit and 22" Tires and the cart drives great but seems like it is about 5-7 mph slower? Everyone I spoke too said it should be faster with larger tires. The only possible thing I may have damaged during the install was the 3 small colored wires had a lot tension on them when I removed the spring bolts and the motor dropped a bit. I then realized the wires were being pulled so I unplugged them until the lift was completely installed. Could one of those wires be broken and that is making me lose 5-7 mph?
Any help would be great. |

Did I not ask this correctly?
All the posts I looked at show a speed increase with 22" tires. Has anyone experienced a speed loss? My lower end torque still feels pretty good. |

Must have stretched a wire there somewhere. Speed sensor wires? You should have seen a top end speed increase with the bigger tires.

Unless your batteries are so weak they just can't turn them well? And the three wires you have pulled on are the speed sensor..... if the speed sensor was damaged the cart would run slow. Unplug the speed sensor and see if the cart runs slower yet?

Re: Lifted Car & larger tires now its much slower please help
The batteries are fully charged, it was performing perfrectly prior to the lift and tires, It took about two hours to install everything. Felt like the cart went from 18-20mph prior to the lift/ tires , down to about 12-14 mph.
So if I unplug the speed sensor and it makes no difference the problem is a broken wire? |

Drag out the old Digital Volt meter and do a continuity test on wires !
