It will melt something (or burn the seat up) from the heat.
WHEN ?, no one knows for sure .
You would have to Monitor it Very VERY VERY VERY close !

And only operate at WOT to keep heat down !

Hey CheatAChip open a new thread with this , We are Hijacking

IS your cart a resistor coil or a 5 solemoid cart? Both diagrams are in the stickies at the top of this section

Hey there jkeisel,

Did you ever do the upgrade to 48V? Did you follow what Impalass88 did and did you replace your F/R switch?

I've got new 4 guage wires on the way (thanks, Mike!) and collecting info to upgrade my 91' 36v v-glide to 48v down the road. There are so many ways to upgrade, but I really like what Impalass88 did and it looks nice.

I did not realize that there were many different ways to do it. I want dependability and cheap. Although it will spend most of its time hauling a 3600 lb. car around the race track.

I should have said that there are many different options when converting to 48v. Different controllers, POT's, Batt - combination, wire size. All that stuff.

The gent's here have great knowledge from doing these and learning themselves.

To keep things from bruning up the needs are:
1 - 4 guage wire
2 - 48v 400+ amp controller
3 - POT
4 - 48v 400 amp solenoid
5 - 48v F/R switch
6 - 48v charger
7 - plus fuses & diodes

Pretty sure I captured it all from what I have been reading.

If I missed something, please chime in!

I am just days away from getting mine running again. Just installed the D&D motor and my new Crown CR-190 8 volt batteries just showed up at the distributor today. It's all coming together now. I'll post some more pics soon!!!
