Default Club car hub kit

I have a 85 CC with the black hubs. I have heard that I would have to get a hub kit if I put a lift. I have heard that it is also only 03-04 that need to have a hub kit. Who is right?

I would contact Allsports, or one of the site sponsors and ask them.

I was hoping to hear from someone before my son orders a kit for his cart. He believes that they will try to up sell him. He just got a great deal on a older cart with a 48 volt conversion allready done.

Normally our sponsors are pretty intuitive and help whenever they can. The only reason I would see to upsell is if it was recommended or required.
Who is he ordering the kit from?

I think if you called " Everything Carts" and ask for E.C., he can put you on the right track for the proper lift for your cart. Hope everything works out for you! Regards!

I think the black hub means its metric. I think they are both right depending on whether or not its gas or electric and what year. Kinda confusing. Check this page, they offer both options. You don't have to change the hubs, just have to get the right lift. http://www.jakesliftkits.com/Products/clubcarLift.shtml Most of the site sponsors carry these.

I also thought that the black PLASTIC caps were late model so these guys may be looking at black spray paint on these older carts???

I agree with both Roady and SB, I am not a spokes-person for either of these lifts as I have used both on my wife's CC and my E-go,and both are good kits. On the spray paint I agree; but metal dustcovers still feels like metal and putting the two side by side one can really tell the difference! Pull the front tires, check dustcovers, give year or ser.no. to site-sponsor and I think you will be satisfied with either kit ! "Made in USA by USN's!" Regards!

i would think it is also quite possible that the hubs couldhave been swapped out with newer ones. the older ones wouldn't have been metric from the factory. but if a guy had a set laying around and those needed replaced.....

There is a way to tell for sure. pull the hub off and measure the spindle with a micrometer or calipers.
