self adjusting brakes overadjusting
Hello all I have an 01 48v DS 6" allsports A-arm lift 23" tires. The passenger side brake seems to be dragging so i adjusted them til they no longer rub. After taking the cart out for a spin the brakes are dragging again. The shoes look to have plenty of friction material on them and the brake components are clean. If anyone has a solution for this I would be happy to try it.

Re: self adjusting brakes overadjusting
Doomsman, thanks for the reply. The cables are clean but have been a little tight since I lifted the cart a couple years ago. This problem is new. I have been considering swapping the backing plates to give the cables more slack.

Re: self adjusting brakes overadjusting
Thats it then the tight cable is pulling the brake with every bump and adjusting the heck out of that wheel.... Flip and invert the backing plates
You need a good pr of 90 degree snapring pliers to get the axles out... be VERY sure the snap rings re seat upon assembly.... Or get longer cables like for a carryall? |

Re: self adjusting brakes overadjusting
Scottyb, thanks man I will go ahead and do the swap. I would like the extra ground clearance i think it will give the cables. I have a high quality set of snap ring pliers. I would like to change the diff fluid when I do the swap. what do you guys recommend gear oil, motor oil, synthetic??

Re: self adjusting brakes overadjusting
Carryall 1 is the stock wheelbase but the Carryall 2 is longer. Like an Ezgo workhorse is.
CC electric = 30w motor oil in the differential. Synthetic is a good choice ... |
