Hello. I have a problem with a 2006 Club Car Precedent cart. I cleaned the batteries with soda and water. When I went to move it, it would not go. Had a smell of burnt bakelite or maybe plastic odor. Moved the tow/run switch to tow and dsconnected the 48 V. positive battery cable because I had to leave. When I came back the next morning and started to reconnect the cable it arced like an electric welder starting a weld. Needless to say I did not attempt that again. Does this mean the controller or maybe the OBC has shorted out. Cart has been running Ok till this happened.I would appreciate any advice as this is my first time with this.

When you put it in tow/run you should dicconnect main - and then main +.Then reinstall by attaching + first then - and then tow/run back to run.You can bypass computer to see if cart will run.But I am sure you blew the controller with hat much arking.

Attach a jumper wire where the yellow wire is on the solenoid to the negative side of the left rear battery.You can also disconnect the black wire from the computer that is on the fuse at the charger receptcial on the cart.attach a jumper wire from there to negative side of left rear batery.

This is VERY interesting , so this is bypassing the Controller or is it only bypassing the OBC ?

again for myself please clarify , many people who have solid state controllers
refer to these as Computers, and the On Board Computer also as a Computer.

So I'm assuming you are referring to the OBC !
This thread could be used in the future to help others, I just want to make sure
everything is clear (I'm not busting U'r Balls)

gmorrison,I am explaining bypassing the obc.I realize he was asking how to bypass the controller and my answer was bypassing computer better known as the obc.You do not bypass a computer.If you are testing my knowlege so be it.
As far as working on a 95-96-97 regan with two solenoids I know of several CC dealers who refuse to work on them.I am looking for someone who has got them working.What I am doing now is converting it to a series cart as I have most all the parts used to do it and it will be solved.

After reading my last post.You can bypass the obc(computer)you cannot bypass the controller.This is a correction to my last post.
