Default Re: Fully charge but no power

Dave

According to the wiring diagram provided in the stickys, the controller has 3 18 guage wire terminals and 3 large terminals (neg=B-, M to F/R switch, B+ postive from batt through solenoid).

My controller has 4 large terminals and 3 small. the 4 th ( has 2 wires) one going to A2 on the motor and another large white going to the F/R switch . It looks like the one in the diagram, justexcept insted of A2 motor wire going directly to the F/R switch. t goes to the controller terminal and then to the F/R switch

So I performed these tests an here are results, after disconnecting A2:

1) putting VOM on the 2 solenoid small terminals and depressing pedal 50.5V

2) red VOM on red 18 guage wire that is disconnected from controller terminal and VOM black on B- (neg from batt terminal) put in Forward, depress pedal =51 V

3 reconnect 18 guage red wire back to it's terminal and then VOM red on B+, which is where the pos cable from solenoid comes in to the controller ( yellow large wire) and the VOM black on the M- which is the terminal ( blue large wire) that goes to the F/R switch. This reads 48 V before depressing pedal and 50V after depressing pedal. So I figure I am doing something incorrect

Besides the 4 terminals versus 3 in the stickies diagram, what do you see I am doing wrong. Hope I have not explained incorrectly or to be confusing.

Thanks
Judge

Judge, you got me.I don't know why the controller has the extra terminal but don't see why that would make any differance,it just seams to be like a union or something.Cable is on A2 and joins the other which runs to the F&R right ?Be right back to ya.Dave

Question Re: Fully charge but no power

Judge, looks like all thats left is to A:have the cart shop check it on board,B:throw a controller at it,and remember what was said about up grading,C: the earlier cart with multi step pot had a diode in the controller that could be checked and I don't know if it applys to a 98 or not. Good luck man.Dave
