Default Oh No..Batteries..????

1993 ...36v ..Clubcar...
All was well till yesterday....I noticed on the "In Dash", volt meter that the voltage was dropping low under load...It would read 36+ volts then when piutting it under motion, the voltage would drop down to 20 volts...

So gave it a full charge....Again 36+ volts and when I attempt to move ..... it moves but not like it should ... and the voltage drops.....

Now before all this I checked the battery water and add'd where necessary...could I have overfilled or...????

Before the last charge I checked all the batteries all were 6.3 volts or better except two one was 5.3 the other 4.5....then I recharged...

Idea's...

The 3 batteries you mentioned below 6.0 are all suspect. Never draw a 6v GC battery down below 6.05 volts Use the 50% max. drawdown rule as recommended by the manufacture....

Those 2 are shot, depending on your budget, either replace those 2 or the whole pack.

You can test the activity of a cel (a measure of it's health) with a simple hydrometer ... might be time for a test and some batteries unless this is an isolated incident?

Just finished a full recharge....... all batteries are at 6.33---6.35 except one which is 4.3 volts..
The complete set is exactly 1 year old so guess I'll get some sort of allowance..

So I don't get a hassle .... what is the exact level, of the battery acid suppose to be...cover the plates then up another 1/2 inch???

I will do a full SG on all betteries and cells before I go back to the cart shop on Monday.....

Thanks..
