This project is doomed. Don't spend $ on a charger until you commit to a solid state conversion. The Vglide will meltdown soon.

If driven in normal golf course type manner and not abused or ask to pull crazy amps, will the vglide system live for years on a 48v system? I think Ive read where others have done this correct? I understand that converting to solid state would be a nicer option for some.

No. It's an urban myth. Especially driven nice and slow.... might last a month, might last half a mile. Only driving WOT is "safe"
