Cool HUGE spark !

Been working on the Precedent, and went to hook up the batteries. The main positive lead was hooked to the + on #1 battery, and when I went to hook up the negative to the last battery, I got a HUGE spark.

BUT when I unhook everything, and then put the - on first and then the positive, I get no spark.

What in the he11 is going on!

Help please - thanks Dave

I hope the Tow/Run was in the TOW position. If not, it may fry the controller.
Sometimes the T/R switch will fail and won't isolate the system. And you get a big spark. Hope this helps.

Pretty sure the switch was in the tow position.

I've always disconnected the neg first, then the pos. And to reconnect, hooked up the pos first, then the negative.

But when I try that procedure with the goofy Precedent, I hook up the positive and get the big spark when I try to hook up the negative.

As they guy in Blazing Saddles says; "What in the wide, wide world of sports is a goin' on?"

I connected the positive cable (with the negative already connected), no spark, no excitment.

The car runs while on jack stands, forward & reverse, everything seems normal.

I'm gonna name the car Minne Mouse 'cause it's f 'n Goofy!

Have fun, Dave
