Default Solenoid Troubleshooting on 1997 Regen

There are 2 solenoids in my cart. The first one is giving me trouble. If I jump the large terminals (connecting wire), the cart runs fine. If I don't, the solenoid clicks when I turn the key but the cart doesn't run when I hit the pedal. I know the solenoid is good (new and behaving just like the one I replaced). Since the cart runs when I jump the leads, I know the V-glide is fine. I suspect it is wired wrong. Does anyone know what wires should go to small neg and small pos and which wires should connect to the large terminals? Also, does anyone know what voltage readings I should see at each of the wires?

Hey froggy !
Why do you suspect the wiring , has some wiring (re-wiring) been done .

Have you found your diagram in the Stickies http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/electric-club-car/
Look at the diagrams and find the one which fits your cart .

Looks like someone replaced the solenoid once before. It was dangling and some of the leads broken off. I'm not sure I have them all in the right place. i have not been able to fully match the wiring up with online diagrams. For example, I have no tow switch. If I knew how each wire was supposed to behave voltage wise at the small and large leads of the solenoid, I figure I can isolate and correct the issue.

I think I'm getting closer. I believe the wires are all in the right place now. For that solenoid:

Small Pos Terminal: Solid Blue
Small Neg Terminal: Blue/White
Large Terminal: Yellow (to speed controller)
Large Terminal: Red (to battery); Red/White

The Solid Blue at the Small Pos Terminal is also collected to Orange/White and Solid Red.

When the key switch is turned on, the Regen Solenoid clicks. When the cart is placed in forward and the pedal is pushed down, there is a nudge of the motor but it is short lived and can't be repeated without turning the key switch off and repeating the procedure.

Total voltage is 49v. I charge directly to the battery pack (not via the CC charger).

I do. The other solenoid clicks when I push the pedal down. It is a much more pronounced click. At that point, the cart quickly and briefly nudges forward.

hey frog what you need is the Maint/repair manual for the 1997.
I have one which I got at a local cart shop for $50 (used)
It has a trouble tree, and 43 Test procedures to diag. this problem in chapter 21.
I do not have this in PDF so check arround.

Sorry and good luck !
