Check the pack Voltage before charging and again 30-60 minutes after charger shuts off.

Well that's what he claimed. Now since the camper closed he has no access to another 48volt cart or charger. He's one of the few who stores his carts at home and not at the lake. I still think it's his cart though. I believe since he changed batteries something got messed up or there may be a bad connection. I did see the battery connection test that someone posted on here and his were fine. I will tell him to have the charger checked again, maybe somewhere else if possible. Just trying to help him since he'll be my father-in-law soon. Guess I should have said soon-to-be in the first post. They already consider me that anyway.

I do have all the diagrams from this site printed for him that have anything to do with his cart. Thanks for that!

Has anyone ever taken a reading of the entire battery pack to insure it is above 36 Volts ?

You might want to double check the batteries and make sure they are connected properly, and the + and - leads are coming off the right posts. And as suggested , check the pack voltage. If it has never charged right after the batts were put in, sounds like a crossed connection, or maybe a bad battery or cell in one of them, it happens. I get em here pretty often that someone has taken the cables off to clean everything and hooked them up wrong putting it back together. If they are connected properly and everythings clean and tight, check the individual batts. It doesnt happen very often, but i have gotten new batteries that were bad.(automotive and golf cart)

Sounds like the charger has a bad diode. If same problem on multiple carts, its the charger not the cart. Try charging his cart on friends charger, if ok, then definitely problem with the charger.
