Re: refurbished batteries
Don't believe everything you read. Although, I have used EDTA (minn kota battery equalizer) and it did work for about a year. It doesn't make a battery NEW again it just prolongs the inevitable. There have been users do the epsom salt trick...some with good results while others with bad results. In ALL CASES you still end up buying a new set of batteries eventually.
There are topics on here that talk about this and someone had posted the instructions. Remember, if you do somethng like that you run the chance of ruining your batteries and still may have to buy a set so you do so at your own risk. |

Re: refurbished batteries
It Is Epsom Salts And Distilled Water.....i Got The Formula On Ebay And Tried It.....didn't Cost Me That Much, But It's Here For Free..
Use A Couple Tablespoons Of Salts To Quart Of Hot Water...let It Dissolve....empty Acid From Battery And Put In This New Mix... Shake It Or Drive Around....it Is Supposed To Clean The Crude Off The Lead Plates....might Work For Awhile..... |

Re: refurbished batteries
I Don't Know About Florida, But I'd Look Around For Possibly A Good Deal On Used Ones Not Over 2 Or 3 Yrs Old...i Was Told By Dealers That They Usually Run About $40 Each....don't Know Much About Us Batteries..... Good Luck

Re: refurbished batteries
US Batteries are very good batteries. Interstate Batteries are good also (they are just re-badged US Batteries - same part number even). Stay away from Exides, NAPA, or Energizers. These are not in the same league as Trojan and US Battery. The US Batteries have slightly better specs than the Trojans, but so close it is hardly worth discussing. It used to be Trojan was way ahead of everyone else but US Battery has caught up and usually is just a little cheaper since Trojan gets a premium for reputation they carry. Crown batteries are okay too, if you get them for a descent price.
Best bet - Stick to Trojan or US Battery (Interstate) for best performance. |

Re: refurbished batteries
Avoid used batteries...You don't know if/how they were maintained. We bought some 3 year old carts that had bone dry batteries...If you could test with a hydrometer and a meter, maybe......
