Club Car "HELP"
Hi All, VERY new to the entire cart scene.
I have a 2001 Club Car that I'm trying to install a 6" Red Hawk Lift on it. I've got a stupid question, why is it so darn hard to remove the wheel/bearing hub assemblies on these things. Here is where I am. 1) I removed the cap, (2) Pulled the cotter pin, (3) removed the castle nut, (4) slid the outer wheel bearings out. I know there is another set in the back of the hub but can't get the entire hub assemblief off. I've hit it with a hammer and it still won't come off. WHY IS THIS SO HARD? is there a snap ring on the inside of these things that is holding it to the wheel spindle, I can't see anything because there is so much grease in there... THANKS for any help! Re: Club Car "HELP"
Welcome to BGW
There is no snap ring. This is a very good question. There should be nothing holding it from coming off at that point UNLESS it has brakes on the front. Probly what may be happening is the wheel bearing is stuck on the spindle and the bearing is hitting the wheel bearing seal. It will come off...just gonna have to hit it just right. |

Thank you sir... I've messed with it for like 2hrs without luck. No brakes on the front, so I'm guessing you are correct, and I just need to continue to work with it. Thanks again.

Re: Club Car "HELP"
It is probably the inner race for the outer bearing which is stuck on the shaft..... you may have to get a puller for the hub ?

Re: Club Car "HELP"
THE WHEEL BEARING IS SEIZED ON THE SPINDLE,AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER IT GOT WET AND THE SPINDLE RUSTED. YOU CAN POP OUT THE SEAL AND PULL THE HUB OFF,CLEAN OFF THE GREASE AND CLEAN THE SPINDLE WITH EMERY CLOTH AND PB BLASTER,THEN WORK THE BEARING BACK AND FORTH TILL IT COMES OFF.

Re: Club Car "HELP"
Is it not the inner race from the outer bearing that is stuck (rusted)?
