Default club car weak batteries or something else?

i have a 36v club car it drives fine but nly for about 5 min and then it dies.
if i let it set for 20-30 min it will go fine for another 5 or so
when i got the cart it had many many electrical problems(electrical fire also) i finally got it somewhat..

the guy who had it befre me wired it up to just go full speed when you flip it into drive i wouldnt mind full speed only but planned on hooking it to foot pedal with a relay.

i charged and load tested all the batteries they are semi new batteeries they say jan 09 and all were within spec

my motor has 4 post in a line up and down i need to know exactly where each wire goes

also would the batteries be dying super fast because it is bypassing the controller?

Welcome to BGW

NO, batteries dieing real fast usually means bad batteries. One or more batteries could be bad and it will cause the whole pack to die. Test each battery AFTER FULLY charging the pack. Wait about an hour after its fully charged before you test them. You really need to load test each battery to be sure but you should be able to pinpoint if one is lower than the rest.. Also. a bad connection will cause problems. Get a diagram and fix all your wiring. Diagrams are located in the stickies.

How long are you leaving it on the charger before you try to run it?

If All Those Things Check Out ,then You Probably Have A Bad Controller. It Has A Part Part Inside That Heats Up And Then Fails.

well it needs a good deep charge with a golf car charger. these are deep cycle batteries, and a golf car charger is a trickle charger. you are just putting a shallow charge on them.

i am charging them with an automatic 6 volt 2 amp deepcycle charger figured it would be the same.

also can it be wewired to not use the controller at all and just go full speed.

not worried about hurting electrical components going to be dropping a honda 400 2 speed automatic in it soon
