79 caroche faster in reverse
I have recently purchased a 79 club car. It is a 36v with 5 solenoids and has 06 batteries which all read over 6v. the cart runs great but goes much faster in reverse. I have the wiring diagram and everything looks to be ok. I'm not sure if the f/r switch is wired right or not, the diagram isn't clear to me. It does have a slight electrical smell while topped out in reverse, but i'm not sure if that's from the motor going to fast in that direction. I think it is the original motor. It starts with a "b" but cannot remember the brand. other than the batteries the only new part is the solenoid on the far left, and it was put on with the batteries before i bought it.
What could be going on? it seems to be half of reverse going forward. What wires would i change on the f/r switch? Thanks for the help |

Re: 79 caroche faster in reverse
Welcome to BGW
Those club car use a half speed reverse. If you happen to have the F/R wired wrong that may be the reason its going faster in reverse. You will flip the 2 wires that lead to the S teminals on the motor, they may also be labeled F. You can also switch them on the motor. |
