96 EZGO - drum stuck on axle
I bought a DOA cart & after new batteries everythig seems to work except the L Rear drum is locked on the brake pads I guess. I disconnected the cable, pulled off the nut and tried to pull off the drum but it's stuck on there. How can I get this off w/o damaging the hub?

Re: 96 EZGO - drum stuck on axle
THere is a hole in the drum. get a flashlight and narrow screwdriver to back the shoe adjustment way off the drum. They can be rust frozen on the axle splines real bad.... there are special pullers to remove them. One is a standard press type you might find on loan at the autoparts house and the other is a slide hammer deal.

Re: 96 EZGO - drum stuck on axle
I Got Lucky With That Deal With The Ezgo Drums ,my Father Was In The Auto Repair Business For 50 Yrs. He Had A Brake Drum Puller That Was Used On Old Packards And Ramblers, works Great On Ezgo Drums As It Is The Same Setup ,just A Smaller Version.it Looks Like A Big Screw That Bolts To The Hub With The Lug Nuts.if You Ever See One Grab It.
