2001 CC DS 48v - need more torque
My buddy has a 2001 CC DS w/ new batteries (trojans) - with his family on the cart it's very slow up the hills. Aside from telling him to lose weight what can he do to upgrade the torque w/o draining his wallet?

4 gauge cable and make sure the tires are aired up right....make sure the brakes aren't dragging.

What about a controller - I think they're $300 - $400. Will that make much of a difference?
