I was planning to paint the cart. I was going to use an etching primer, then going to use an enamel paint then clearcoat. I have never painted fiberglass. Does this seem to be the right thing to do? Or is there a preferred method for painting.

Go up to the top left corner of this page, click on (home) scroll down to design center click, at the top of the page click ( body and paint) everything you want to know

Just wash it, sand it good with 400 grit sandpaper, apply several coats of primer (etching primer is not necessary, it is for metal), let dry 48 hours, wet sand with 600 grit, wash with soap and water, let dry good, start applying paint (light coats so you don't get runs), let paint tack up about 30 minutes between coats, apply a second coat, and continue until desired finish is acheived.

Be careful when you clear coat this. Enamel paint out of a spray can is very susceptible to orange peeling when applying clear coat. I have had many bad experiences with spray can clear. I just did my body and I am having it clear coated by a professional auto body painter using a synthetic clear coat made just for covering this type of paint.

I used Rust-O-Leum Professional paint. This is available at any Home Depot, Lowe's, or Menard's. Larger cans and a better paint. Spray's and cover's better than any other spray can I have used.
