Lifting '09 CarryAll LSV 6 Can it be done?
I am trying to decide which to buy (New) a Carryall 2 or 6 , with full cab.
The deciding factor is this, Can these newer "LSV" Carryalls be lifted (no spindle lifts). They have front disc brakes by the way. I am using it for acreage work, all pasture stuff, and like the longer bed on the 6 but only if I can lift it up so it doesn't high center as I hear they do often. Any tips? |

IMG_0327.jpg Yes you can lift a Club Car Carryall LSV 6. I just got done lifting my Club Car Carryall LSV 2 and the 6 has the same components just with a longer chassis. It had to wait a couple of weeks for the custom mounts for the front brakes but it was well worth it. The lift kit I purchased was from All Sport lift kits. (www.allsportsliftkits.com), they did a custom job for me after I sent them some pics and such. They have it on file now so should be easy to order. All Sports does NOT sell direct to the public so they directed me to Rocky Top Carts (931-707-0499). I have attached pics for your reference. It is a club car Carryall 2 LSV with 6" Super Sport lift kit, 22 inch tires on 12 inch wheels. I welded the roof rack custom. All in all still fits in the garage with .5" to spare. Drives great. Going from 18'' tires to 22" increased my speed from 25 max to 32 max mph, and now cruises steady at 28-29mph. It still speeds up about the same and seems that there is no loss in power. Cheers. |

That is a pretty dramatic improvement in the overall look of that carryall !!!
Nicely done !!! A couple of questions, does the steering feel pretty solid with the lift? Did you have problems with camber, adjustment, etc.? Also, what offset wheels did you use, and does it feel excessively top heavy when you drive it (with the cab and all) ? I ended up buying a z style lift made by M&M but haven't installed it yet, I think after seeing this I will call a dealer and price one of these kits, what did it run you if you don't mind me asking? Are you in OK by any chance? |

Yes, the steering does feel pretty solid. I was actually a bit nervous when I first took it out for a test drive as it was extremely out of alignment. This forced me to gripping the steering wheel just to keep it straight. Got it back to the garage and discovered two problems....1) alignment, thats obvious and 2) the camber adjustment. The camber was a simple adjustment and I set it so the tires were flat to the ground. After the couple of adjustments on the alignment it drives just like it came from the manufacturer. Once I got the tires flat, I measured the front and rear insides of the wheels with a tape measure to ensure they were equidistant apart (not rocketscience, but I feel it worked out OK).
Surprisingly enough it really doesnt feel top heavy and is very stable. The lift kit adds and additional 3" total (1.5" per side) to the wheelbase and that helps a bit. As a matter of fact, I hate to say it, ran into a little ice on a bridge today and it recovered nicely after I started sliding. Wont let that happen again. Im not real sure on the offset. Another way to line your front end even a little more accurately is to remove the front tires and clamp a straight edge about 2 feet long to the hubs. Then measure the way you did just measuring the front and back of the tire, only now, you have a longer distance from the spindle to measure, providing more accuracy. That's the way lots of folks line the front ends of our Jeeps. Gets really accurate.

One of our local dealers informed us yesterday our Jake's ductile iron spindle lift kit will fit the Club Car Villager 2+2 LSV. This cart comes from the factory with 4-wheel drum brakes. We make a 6" and 3" version that allow you to keep your factory brakes. The 6" is Part# 6233 and the 3" version is Part# 6233-3LD. We have been making this kit for years for the Carryall carts and frame-wise they did not change anything.

The Carryall 2 and 6 (I bought a 6) come with 4-wheel hydraulic brakes; front disc, rear drum, not sure what type of drum brakes (hydraulic?) the villager has, ... that seemed to be the issue when I called you guys (Jakes)...
You had not gotten a sample car from anyone to check your lift kits out on. I keep hearing Jakes is the best there is, even though the dealer I bought it from was emphatic against using spindles of any type due to strength issues. I am still an up in the air potential customer : ) Thanks for the great input guys !!! |

Everything I have read about lift kits for the Club Car Carryall say that spindle lift kits are not an appropriate lift for the Carryall 2 or 6. With that being said, I must say I have been impressed with what the guys at All Sport Lift kits have done. The Super sport lift kit improves the ride of the carryall and makes it a bit smoother, unlike the spindle lift kits which are like adding stilts to your cart. They also extend the wheel base a total of 3" which I find to be a plus for stability and improved ride quality. The lift kit I purchased (Super Sport lift) with added front wheel brake mounts required no drilling or modding of the chassis and were a simple bolt on job. I am still able to utilize all four brakes, both rear drum and front disc when driving. I cant squeel the tires when speeding up, but I can when stopping If I want. I drive my vehicle to work when possible and I wouldnt put something that is just "kind of right" on the vehicle. I have no affiliation with All Sport Lift kits other than the fact that they were willing to work with me on the lift kit and their product was and is very solid. Satisfied customer.
