That's more like it....
Brett yours sounds to small?

I put 400a continuous / 1000a peak on the big stuff...

So, I'm saying 100a rating on your solenoid leads to believe that it is for a machine with much smaller loads.

Sending a PM with source info.

Here's a link to the one Chevy has-http://www.cloudelectric.com/product...am4801bboc.htm. Got that from Andy. It's the one he's been using with no trouble. The ad says they are 200 amp continuous, but I see it's got 100 amps written on it. Oh well...

Chevy is building a 72v race cart with custom 800amp controller and aftermarket motor. Lets keep that in mind.

Right! That's why I posted a link to what he's got. So you guys could check it out a little better. The ad does say it will handle 72 volt systems, but I'm sure he's going to need a bigger one if you all think so!

Talking Re: forward/reverse switch change to toggle switch

That is a 24 volt contactor. Just make sure the + wire is on the Yellow and Red dots on the spade connector. Look each one has it. This is for the internal diode.
I used this same contactor in my dragster. It works fine. This is for the F/R contactor not the main contactor. I have used it in three carts so far and not a minute of trouble except for the dragster. I hooked the coils up to 72 volts and fried them in Albany!
Want make that mistake again!

I trust your judgement here, Andy. Especially since you have actually hooked one of these up before to a 72v drag cart. I didn't think that you had lead Chevy astray.

Being novices at 72v we ordered a SW202 400 amp Contactor.... I'm sure it will be very HD. We just need to select a switching voltage. The cart is 48 now and plans are for 72v soon, I'm leaning toward 48v activation... 48v now and 48v from 4 of the 6/12v (or 6 of the 9/8v) later.
