Default Will Blown Diode Cripple Cart?

On my 2000 CC Carryall 48V cart, it hasn't moved since this past Summer...would this diode, or the smaller one for that matter, cause the cart to not move if it was blown? When you step on the "GO" pedal, the larger diode gets VERY hot...any thought? Thanks!

its not a diode its a resistor

and yes it could be the cause for it not running

While it could it is highly unlikely. All the resister does is slow the charge of the capacitors in the controller to prevent arching...
PRE-CHARGE RESISTOR is a device that
slowly charges the capacitors within the
electronic controller. Without this resistor,
closing the contactor would generate large
amounts of current and arc the contacts.

In other words you could remove it and the cart would still function, although it's not recommend due to arching.

I should also add that the following items have been tested/replaced:
Controller
Batts tested between 8.2-8.4 volts. All are well maintained and have never been discharged to dead. They're '06's
All wiring is clean and tight.
I might add, however, that the problem started when the blue wire on the F/R switch was pulled away from it's lug and nearly severed. I re-crimped and cleaned it
The motor spins freely and I tested it W/a 12V source. It spun freely, albeit slowly
No brakes are hanging up
I have not replaced the OBC as its a bit expensive and the controller wasn't exactly cheap. That is th only original part that I didn't replace.
The solenoid is also original but would it really cause the problem that I'm having?
The symptom of the problem is this:
Key on, when you put the cart in forward, the cart will attempt to move about an inch then nothing. No smoke, sounds or smells. Remember that the resistor I mentioned gets very hot. I jacked the cart up on all 4's and no difference. Wheels move about a 6th of a turn then nothing. I can't let this get the better of me, if anyone has ANY ideas on what to test next I'm all ears!

Have you tried jumping the large posts of the solenoid with a 6g wire?

Should I do that with the key on and in 'forward'? What should I look for when doing that? Thanks~
