Pros and Cons 1996 Fairway Villager
What are the pros and cons to a 1996 CC fairway villager 48 volt?
I am thinking about buying one to use for hunting and cruising. Would this be a good cart to lift? Controller change? I wanted to ask the experts first. Any help would be appreciated. Love this site and Thanks in advance for the help. |

Yep very good cart, check age and condition of batteries , a new set is $600.00.
Yes on the lift ! Controller change ? depends on what speed and torque, run times U want. |

Thank you for the reply. Sorry it is been so long. What kind/type lift would you recommend? Also what kind of controller upgrade? Again, thanks for the help and any info. I will get the cart next week and put new batteries in it. I would like to all upgrades when doing this. Thanks

Jakes makes the best lifts, but you need to decide how high , how long, how much $$Money U have.
and when U lift a cart and put bigger tires and wheels on it you will gain some "flat ground speed" but loose hill climbing torque" EMP makes a relatively inexpensive dual speed/torque switchable motor. As for controller "Controller change ? depends on what speed and torque, run times U want" |

Re: Pros and Cons 1996 Fairway Villager
thanks man. Which one would be better the motor or controller upgrade? The cart would be used for hunting and neighborhood cruising. So i like the fact that i could switch from speed to torque.
If i get that EMP motor do i need to change contollers or will the stock one work? Also does EMP sell lift kits? Thanks for all the help. I will get the cart next week and then contact some site sponsors about a lift and more upgrades. |

Re: Pros and Cons 1996 Fairway Villager
No, and I would be leery of any motor house that did.
Go to the top of this page and see http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/site-sponsors.php Both are good for increase in speed and torque, and a new motor will give U some of both and a new bigger controller will also give U some of both. Plum Quick, and D&D also make/rewind motors which can give U as much as your $$ can stand. Some sponsors also sell combo kits and U may work a deal if U buy enough toys to get a lift a tad cheaper. All site sponsors guarantee their stuff, so be careful when shopping around. |

Re: Pros and Cons 1996 Fairway Villager
Before you do a motor and controller upgrade (something you don't HAVE to do), you should upgrade to a complete 4 gauge wire kit Do this at the same time as the lift
4 gauge is a MUST on lifted carts. You may just be happy with the stock motor and controller. If it ain't broke, then don't fix it |

Nice fade away effect there I don't like to see people buying the carriage before the horse! Most lifted carts are just fine with stock controllers and motors. WIRES, WIRES, WIRES!!!! |

Re: Pros and Cons 1996 Fairway Villager
Does this cart (96 fairway villager) use the same parts as a 1996 club cart ds?
Whats the difference in the carts? Thanks again. |
