Where is the fuse for the Headlights?
The headlights on my 2000 DS Club car do not work. I just got this cart and I am new to this site. I am thinking it has to be a fuse. Where is the fuse for the headlights and tail lights.

Does the factory have a box they would put them in or is it just on the cable in a capsule? Thanks.

SOMETIMES THEY HAVE A FUSE PANEL,BUT IF SOMEONE ELSE PUT THEM IN LIKE MYSELF THEY WOULD HAVE AN IN LINE FUSE ON THE HOT WIRE.

Re: Where is the fuse for the Headlights?
Run the wires back to power feed. It may or may not have a fuse box as the lights may have been installed by a dealer. If no fuse box run back to battery or voltage converter to find an in-line fuse. I suspect there is a fuse there someplace as I can't believe someone would wire direct with no fuse. You might check the light switch also as I have seen add-on switches that had a fuse mount on them.

Re: Where is the fuse for the Headlights?
Thanks for the help, I did find the wires running to a small box mounted infront of the batteries. It turned out to be the fuses. All the fuses were ok. I then noticed that the cable that was running from the battery to the fuse box was on the negative side of the last battery in the sequence of 8 batteries. I put the cable on the positive of the last battery and the lights came on but they are somewhat dim. What battery should this cable be on? The first battery that has two red cables attached (one from the charger plug and one from the back of the cart). Should I hook it on that?

Re: Where is the fuse for the Headlights?
Your light circuit has to have two wires (Red is usually +) the other is ground (-). If you have followed one wire to the fuse box. Where does the other wire from the lights go? Look this "fuse box" over, does it have just the one wire running to a battery? It could be this is a "voltage" converter that is converting some or all of your 48volt battery pac to 12 volts. Is there a second wire running to the "fuse box" from a battery, if so does it come from a - or + side on a battery? What other electrical goodies are run to the "fuse box"? See if they are working or not. DON'T HOOK TO A NEW PLACE YET AS YOU MAY PUT 48 VOLTS INTO YOUR LIGHT SYSTEM!! That is a bummer and smells up the garage for days. A picture of this "fuse box" would help, if a close-up.

Re: Where is the fuse for the Headlights?
There is only a red wire running from the battery to the fuse box. Coming out of the fuse box is 3 wires, Yellow goes to the Light switch in the dash, the other two I believe go to the brake light, and some switch on the floor board? (horn maybe??) I did see under the dash where the black wires go to a common post that appears to be a ground. I have not followed the ground back to the battery, I will look at it tonight and send some pics. What would a Converter look like?

Re: Where is the fuse for the Headlights?
The converter looks like a small flat box & depends on brand, etc. check the size of the "fuse box". If it is just a flat plate with just the fuse holders it serves as a Terminal pad so that you only need one power wire to the Battery then can fuse off for various circuits. If it is thick enough, say more than 1/2" it could be a converter. If you have the 6/8v batts. there has to be some conversion going on to get down to 12 volt.
