Boiling Batts.
I know boiling batts. is somewhat normal, but it does make me a little nervous after 10 or so hours and the batts are hissing and water is culminating on top of the batts. BTW, batts. are about 2yrs old and very well maintained. Thanks in advance. This is on my 95CCDS48v, 6-8volts.

Re: Boiling Batts.
As long as there isn't heat present and the charger is showing low output amperage I wouldn't be too concerned.
Also, there is boiling and there is boiling. How active are the bubbles? |

Re: Boiling Batts.
Maybe the water level was little high to begin with ? What was the voltage before you started charging?

Check batteries , let charger run 2 more hours (12 Total) then disconnect charger wait 30 minutes then with a digital meter measure pack Voltage according to this chart http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...-readings.html. If batteries at 100% then could be OBC malfunction, so try a OBC reset as described here http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...tting-obc.html. If batteries are not fully charged then check each battery to see which ones are bad using the first chart. |

Re: Boiling Batts.
I'll check the packs voltage before and after. The most logical guess after reading all the input...is that I may have a bad habit of slight over filling them. The obc is working fine, batts. running time normal,...just the boiling and slight smell of batt. acid around the cart when on it's end cycle. I would say the charger was reading around 5amps when I disconnected due to the concern. Thanks all.
