2001 club car ds not working (48V) non-IQ
Placed 6 new 8v batts in cart and cart ran for a couple minutes until I let off on the throttle. started again after banging the fwd rev sw a few times and ran again until I let off throttle. Hasn't worked since. Been tryin' most of the trouble shooting stuff I've found on the forum but haven't had any luck. the solenoid will click when key is on and after pressing the go pedal several times (no wheel spin, even on jacks) and then it will stop clicking. I've reset the obc several times and than it will click again for a while than stop. There is power to the solenoid and when I've tried to jump it (from big + wire to small red wire lead on sol.) it will click but not move wheels. also, there is no difference in readings on the sol. when accl. pedal is depressed. Batts are fully charged and all wire connections are clean and tight and appear to be properly placed (by club car wiring diagrams). Cart was not working/running when I bought it (supposedly just needed batts) so I can't say if everything worked properly before. However, it did run fast and with no noise, heat, sparks, smoke, etc. for the few minutes it ran. Thanks for any input.

Check your micro switches on the f an r switch, make sure that they click. You can also spray some wd40 in the f an r switch sometimes this helps with any corrision.

Tried it. They all click when lifted by finger. WD 40 made no difference.

Microswitches must be verified with a multimeter. Just because they click, don't mean they work correctly.

Have you got an extra solenoid to try?

No, I don't have any extra parts. I wanted to see if there were any more tests/things to check before I start buying parts. How do you check the micro swithes with the meter?

Check across the leads (set to ohms) .
Infinite ohms before click, 0 ohms after click ! You can also test the solenoid (cart up on stands). listen for click when SW is on then another on the second solenoid when peddle is depressed. |

You can check the solenoid by jumping across the main posts. If I'm correct, you have a resistor across the solenoid. therefore you're always are going to read 48V across it. By jumping the main, high current, posts, it will tell you if your solenoid is good or not.

Thanks everyone for the advise. Having tried everything within my capability, I turned it over to a local shop for repair. I would have kept at it, but my kids really wanted it working for Thanksgiving. I'll post the results for anybody else needing help.
