1987 club car
I would like to know if my cart has a fuse. Have had it a long time and I just now wondered about it. Cannot find one in the wiring????? I have a bunch more questions, but would like to have a wiring diagram for this cart, and of
course, I don't want to pay for it. Save money for golf balls, that I loose. Forgot to add electric in title. Newbie, you know. Last edited by sandune0254; 11-26-2009 at 11:46 AM.. Reason: To explain that the cart is electric, not a gasser. |

Moving on. My lestronic II charger is an old one, fully automatic, 36v, and it does everything right except shut off. Of course the manual says to replace the 134.00 timer, but. I am trying a timer, to shut the unit down after so many hours. Do not want to get an overcharge on fairly new batteries. When it gets down to 3 amps, how long should I let the batteries charge? The voltage rises to 48.9 volts on a 36 volt stystem. Is this excessive voltage frying my batteries? |

Re: 1987 club car
No as long as it does not stay there too long. But I have no Idea of how long too long would be. try calling Lester electric. That seems high for the timer since a new Lestronic II , is only $275.00

Re: 1987 electric club car
Thanks for the input. I put new diodes and fuse on my lester II.
It works just fine. But I have put an external timer on it, and set it for 5 hours. I believe it is getting the charge that it needs, without burning up the batteries. Note: I did notice that this particular charger is a 25 amp instead of a 20 amp. So am assuming that it charges at a higher rate, and in a shorter amount of time than the 20 amp. Buggies Unlimited wants 134.00 for a new timer. The charger that Lester Electronics is a 24 volt. They probably won't be able to give it away. Ha, ha. Thanks again. Think I will hang up for now, until something else messes up. |
