The "Battery" light???
This has probably been asked...sorry. (I have a 2001 Club Car DS 48 volt) But tonite I came home from work, and the "battery " light was flashing on and off. I was told that when that light comes on "you have problems!). I haven't driven it lately (MN cold!), so threw the charger on, statrted flashing again, then wiggled the F/R switch alittle and it went off and stayed off (at least for an hour, longer than before). Could I be having issues with my F/R switch? I'm new to this Electric Golf Cart thing, plan on buying new batt's before spring, but the light just bugs the hell out of me! Any help out there?

Re: The "Battery" light???
Could be the OBC. You can try resetting the OBC. There is a How to reset the OBC in the stickies. It could also be a bad battery causing problems or even connections.

It will also flash a lot when you are about 25%charge left in your batteries. it also means that the o.b.c. is searching for a charge. If you arent using it just unhook your 2 main cables.

show some attention to batteries, cables, obc , ...something. It is controlled by the OBC which monitors the batteries. Try the OBC reset as roady suggested first, actually take a digital volt meter and check the voltage of the pack first. read this chart first http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...-readings.html Just remember a 48 Volt cart is almost dead at 48 Volts. If batteries show good reading then try the recommended reset . Post results here |

Re: The "Battery" light???
Well, I checked the battery pack last night, was 48.4. So threw the charger on last night. Was wondering, would I be better off just unhooking the batteries for the winter?

Re: The "Battery" light???
Unhooking is not a problem as long as U charge first , then keep in a warm place.
Or if the OBC and PowerDrive charger are working correctly U can leave them connected , the OBC will tell the charger to come on every 15 days , test batteries, charge as needed. Make sure U add distilled water to recommended levels before leaving. |

Re: The "Battery" light???
The problem is I know I have 1 bad battery, so when I charge the pack, the charger will sit at 4 and keep charging. (I've left the charger on for a good 18 hrs once hoping it would shut off, but didn't)

Re: The "Battery" light???
yes, I realize that. Like I said, I plan on buying all new ones in the spring. I was just hoping to be able to keep it somewhat charged so that I can go out and play in the snow with it once in awhile this winter.
