Default Club Car Forward Reverse Switch Diagram

Hi all. Back again with new problems hoping for answers. I finally moved into the controller age with an Alltrax 4855 and a cool new motor from D&D. Now, the problem is I wired it just as advertised but no juice to the motor. Everything works great. The micros work and the solenoid engages as desired but no motor turning. I think the actual forward/reverse switch is wired wrong. My f/r switch has two lugs at the bottom. I wired them via the diagram for 1996 and newer as A2 on the left and M- on the right looking forward. I also put S2 and S1 on the rotator left and right as shown.

Here's the catch. My F/R switch used the M- lug as the half speed reverse wire and was connected to the battery pack half way. Now, the dilemma. I also have a lug on the right side about where the 'roof' of my little F/R house starts. Picture it? I think that is where the M- should be but I'm not sure and I don't want to fry a beautiful new controller. It appears that there is a copper bar crossing just above both the S1 and S2 rotator where there should be some connection when the F/R switch is moved.

I can't find a picture of my particular F/R switch anywhere. All I can find is the one on my diagram and it ain't working the way it is wired.

Any ideas or photos or hand drawn pictures of what I can do to get moving?

Did this new D&D motor ever work with the old controller ?

Never make 2 electrical changes at the same time , U won't know which failed.

Go back to the OLD setup U had which worked.
then swap out ONLY the motor , does it work ?

Gman,

Thanks for the reply. I figured it out. Here's the deal. I ran this thing on reistors at 48v for awhile. I even installed the gee whiz motor. Everything worked great. I did find that at low speeds the #1 coil got red hot if I loafed along for long periods of time. Anyway, I finally decided to take the plunge and install the controller (already had the HD solenoid and #4 wiring in place. You know, just had to see what the resistors would do.

So, after everything was wired according to the diagram for 1996 and newer Club Car (via Alltrax website) I got solenoid activation but no juice to the motor. My F/R switch was a little different than the diagram so I started working through the flow of current and found that the extra lug on the upper right side of my F/R was where M- should go. Then I jumpered the bottom two lugs (A2) and bingo I'm up and running. My old resistor setup used the bottom right lug for the half speed reverse. Now it's a demon!!

I am going to change out the F/R soon and use the double contact HD switch that everyone is raving about. That way I can mount a toggle switch on the front panel somewhere and also restore my half speed reverse which is on the controller.

BTW, the controller pro software is a hoot to play with!!

Thanks again for the reply!
