Default Can I use a powerdrive3 charger on a 2000 club car.

I have a 2000 club car that I purchased about 6 months ago. It had a powerdrive charger when I got it and everything worked fine. I had a fire and the charger was destroyed. I have a powerdrive3 charger with the same plug but when I plug it in the amp meter on the charger pegs over 15 amps. I dont want to damage my car or charger. Is there any way to make this charger work safely. Any help would be appreciated. Rusty

I am not sure about the different revisions of the Lester Electrical chargers.
Call them http://www.lesterelectrical.com/products/index.htm"

If they can't answer the ?
then we should be able to figure it out if you have a digital
Volt meter and know how to use it. and BTW

I did what you suggested and called Lestor Electric. I talked to a guy named George in their sevice department. After about a half an hour of him explaining to me how the chargers worked we determined everything is operating normally. The excessive current draw is being caused by my batteries being so low and as the voltage comes up the current will go down. The powerdrive3 charger is a safe replacement for the original powerdrive charger. Thanks for the help. Rusty
