Default V Glide Question

I'm in the process of working on my Club Car this winter. This includes having some stress cracks repaired on the frame and giving it a good cleaning.

Anyway, I opened up the v glide and noticed that when I push the accelerator pedal to the wide open position, the wiper arm touches both the wide open contact and the contact below it. Is this normal? I was thinking that I may be adding additional resistance when the arm touches the lessor speed contact.

Any comments on the wiper arm travel and the condition of my v glide assembly would be appreciated. I'd also welcome any cleaning and maintenance tips for the assembly.

I've attached a picture of the v glide with the pedal on the floor. Thanks in advance,

At WOT the wiper arm contact should only touch the last stationary lug
Adjust the throttle linkage for more travel ... Observe that it still reaches the 1st lug or off position...

Thanks Scottyb. I'll make the adjustment when I start back together with it.
