no i did not put 6 8 volt batteries in it. i got a volt meter and checked all my batteries and one of them was only reading 4.7 and found one of my wires a little loose on it. Could that not let it charge when i charged it? I charged it after i tightened it and it has went up to 5.7 after charging but all the others read 6.4

Voltage readings should be taken after the initial surface charge has settled. Readings after charging will be falsely high. Wait 1 hr for more true reading. If the charger is working let it finish the cycle. Up to 12 hrs may be required. If after 16 hrs the charger has not shut off unplug it. Let the pack sit for 1 hr and post the readings..... Even though the batts are new you may have a bad one

Here is a handy chart to print out...... never let batteries drain down below 50% Ever!
NEW BATTERIES=
LOnger charg times are normal.... let the charger finish and check the voltage 30-45 minutes after the charger shuts off ... you should have a reading like on the chart below. During the first 12 cycles it is important to always let the charge finish and do not draw the pack down below say 75% capacity..... then never below 50% during their useable life. If you do this they will last about twice as long as an abused set

64.1 volts!? You have too many volts ???? How many fill holes are in the top of each battery?
