let me try this again
ok i will try this a difrent way thanks for the thought and help this board gives
what i need to do is limit the output curent when the cart is put in reverse i know there is a micro switch that is suposed to do this but i think now that this cart has been messed with befor i got it so it dident work corectly the cart runs fine but...is jerky and not smooth at this point i dont care if it does this in forward i would like to eliminate this in reverse . my thought was use the three position micro switch and run one of the wires coming out of the pot box (not sure witch one yet ) to the micro sitch that has been split one lead straigt to switch and the other lead through a resistor and then to the micro switch and the lead that goes to the controller to the micro switch ..... that was my thought does this sound like it would work and if so what lead do i use the one that goes to #2 or #3 on the controller its a 95 club car controller that is 200 amps cart is a 93 running all 48 volt equiptment i have tried to find wireing diaagrams but they are all so small i cant read them any one have a clue |

Lets try to find a wiring diagram which best reflects your cart wiring? How many Solenoids do you have? V-glide? OBC? What do you have?

This is kind of an expensive solution, but if you put in an AllTrax AXE controller you can program the controller ramp up speed for smoother acceleration and you can turn on half speed reverse. This would definetly smooth out your ride. Also this would give you a little more torque and speed.

scotty it has a vglide and one soleniode and the controller is mouted under the pass side rear
thanks for all your guys help im gonna call tim at ht electric tommorow and ask him if he has a cheap axe maybey a demo model he will get rid of cheap would rather just use what i have as it does what i need i would say the best wireing diagram i would need is one for a 93 36 volt clubcar with solid state controller and vglide |

So the throttle position indicator in this cart is a 1993 V-glide with the resistors on the backside. ( I think these were 0-5k output) And the controller is a 1995 48v stock model? The 95 was designed to work with a true 5k-0 potentiometer.
Is this correct? |

n o the controller came out of a car with the same vglide switch a quick switch of the to wires on the vglide makes it a 5k to 0

Silver or black controller? They use different throttle inputs. One uses 5k-0 the other 0-5K.
I came up with something like this a few years back but it was used with a key switch. If they key wasn't in and turned it limited throttle to 50%. Once the key was in and turned on the throttle went to 100%. I guess t worked...the guy never got back with me. The problem with this idea is the controller MIGHT just shut off. If it detects something is wrong with the throttle or the wrong throttle type it just shuts off. The other problem is HPD. (High pedal disable) If the system is wired where the controller only powers up when you hit the throttle and your in reverse it may detect a HPD and not do jack until it see's the right thing. Using your theory there will already be...lets say 2.5K ohm as soon as you hit the throttle and the microswitch goes closed. That should trigger HPD. If the controller is powered when you turn the key on then that may not be a problem as long as you power up in nuetral or forward. , Your on the right track but its not as simple as placing a resistor in the circuit. It also depends on whether you have a 5k-0 ohm or 0-5k ohm. They will work differently. |

i have the silver three large lugs and three small conections
and i changed the vglide from 0-5k to 5k to 0 and not sure rody about the other things you are talking about ....lol would it be possible for me to give you a call maybey monday after the holidays |

OK you guys are wearing me out !
I have been watching this thread for a couple of days and I cannot figure out' If this guy has a multi step potentiometer or a VGlide or if you are using the terms interchangeable. I thought all VGlides had resistor arrays and no controller the VGlide and resistors are the controller. There is no 0-5K or 5K-0 to output to a controller since there is NO Controller. Attached is a image of a VGlide . Is this what U have , What everyone is talking about ? If not it is a POT box ??? |

He has a multi-step pot and swapped the resitors around to reverse the throttle output.
The term "V-glide" technically is the name of the series resistor carts speed control system, NOT the speed switch itself. Over the years everyone has gotten used to calling the switch itself, both resistor and controller cart versions, a v-glide. Why? I supposed its because the switches looks similar. 2 totally seperate things here. the OP has a multi-step potentiometer switch NOT a V-Glide Wiper Switch. Then theres the Motor Controller Output (MCOR)...we'll skip that for now. Hope this doesn't confuse anyone. weracemx....gimme a day or so and I might be able to come up with a curcuit. |
