Yamaha's and E-Z-Go's are 19 spline, Club Cars are 10. I looked at some parts catalogs and some of the Yamaha and E-Z-GO motors even have the same part number.

A 36 volt Club Car motor in the place of the 48 will give you a nice performance boost if you can find one. They are getting scarce.

Sorry...I was refering to a 36 volt club car motor going into a 48 volt club car....but yes, a 36 volt yamaha or ezgo motor in a 48 volt yamaha will give a performance boost.

Old Yamaha electric differentials are just like Club Car's Kawasakis with the exception of the casing. A 10-spline motor will work on the Yamaha electrics up to the G9 (I think the G9). After that, Yamaha went to the same rear end E-Z-GO uses which does, in fact, take a 19-spline motor.

The rear end looks very similar to this except it has a motor mounted to the right side.

Have you ever tried this No No? Reason I'm asking is I priced a G2 motor and the G2 and the E-Z-GO's have the same part number which were both listed as 19 spline.

Yes, the G8 I upgraded a few months ago was using a "Club Car motor." It was tapped with metric threads but that was the only difference. It would have just as easily went on a Club Car rear end.
