Precedent burnt smell
Last night my my wife and I along with two other couples were all taking a ride on my club car precedent and all of a sudden it stopped. I immediately noticed a distinct burnt smell. The batteries felt pretty warm. We brought it back to the house and plugged it in to charge but it would not charge. When you plug it in a few seconds later it clicks then does nothing. I am wondering if we overloaded it and burned something up. Any thoughts would definitely be appreciated.

Re: Precedent burnt smell
Check all battery cables and connections. Check voltage across battery pack and each battery.

The batteries are all around 12.20v and the total string is 48.27.

Re: Precedent burnt smell
Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. Is there a quick way to check to see if that's what it is?

Re: Precedent burnt smell
There is a test for unwanted continuity if you have a voltmeter?

Re: Precedent burnt smell
There are 4 terminals on the motor. A1&A2. S1&S2 or F1&F2. There should be continuity between A1 & A2 and continuity between S or F1& F2 but, Never continuity between any A and any S or F terminal

Re: Precedent burnt smell
Thanks a lot! I will let you know what I come up with. Do you think I over loaded it with six adults or about 800-900 lbs?
