I tried rotating the tires that were on it as well as a new set...and those really shook and bounced. Was very careful to make sure the lugs were properly put on, etc. Took it back to the installer and he rode it and could feel the bounce. He said it felt like an axle or a hub problem, but his mechanic was out at the time. I left it to see what they say.

It could have be a out of round drum or crooked wheel studs? If you had a axle problem you would surely have a loud grinding or pounding noise on that wheel only. Did you jack up like recomended and check for crooked wheel or tire and the noise of a bad bearing or out of round drum would have shown up? I wonder if you have a brake lining loose? I have seen that cause some problems similiar to what you are having, but normally you will be ALSO getting a brake pedal bounce like a out of true disc brake rotor? Yes let us know what the installer did to fix the problem? You never did say is your installer a DEALER or a SHADE TREE mechanic so to speak?
Any way good luck and I hope you enjoy your cart after its repaired/

Hey Ron Jon, we're hanging on your every word waiting to hear what the cart mechanic found. Let us know what he said.

It's also possible that the already crappy golf cart shocks are not damping the extra weight of what I'm assuming are heavier wheels and tires than what you had on there before.

Thanks for the advice. It's a legit dealer, not a shade tree type. Shocks being bad or something with the brake drum had crossed my mind as well. Appears to be something in the back right tire/wheel. I'll keep you posted.

I just had this exact problem, took a bit to find it but is was an ever so slightly tweaked (or bent) axle shaft.

Just spoke with the guy and he said it was a bad bearing that he didn't notice the first time. He has it ordered and should have it in Monday. I'll let you know if that fixes it.

Wow, bad bearing that causes wheel to bounce? It may have a bad bearing but to me that's not going to solve the problem. I would think the bearing would have to be missing all the balls to cause that.
