no go in cold weather, something not right?
temp this morning about 26 degrees,
2006 cc iq ds I tried to drive the cart out of the unheated storage room but it wouldn't go, I could hear the motor kinda humming, seemed like it might want to go but maybe it's too cold????? should I check anything or could this just be due to cold temps??? |

Drove mine this morning, about 20 deg out. As long as the batts are charged they should operate in cold temps.

Re: no go in cold weather, something not right?
maybe I need to run the charger tonight???? I've been running the charger every couple of days...but i didn't last night...the battery did come on as soon as I switched from tow to run....maybe the cold weather drains to batts quicker.
I'll check tomorrow |

Cold weather actually will PRESERVE the batteries, but at the same time it hinders their ability to run the cart at full power. I run my cart all winter in the snow without issues other than a bit slower than normal.

last year we ran it in the snow and never had any problems.....hopefully my batteries are just weak from the cold....after a night of charging maybe it'll go tomorrow.

Re: no go in cold weather, something not right?
overnight I charged the batteries, temp was about 20 outside, about 30 min ago I checked the voltage...it had 43 volts on the 4 12v batteries.
is this due to cold weather????? 2006 cc iq ds with original trojan batts that I maintain very well. |

you might have a bad one
pop the tops off the batteries and if you see any ice it may be bad |

best thing to do is get it warmed up and charge it
then check your voltage |

Re: no go in cold weather, something not right?
charged up to 48.2 volts..took it for a spin, died out to 41 volts after about 6 or 7 min drive around the neighborhood, I think I need warmer weather before I can go farther.
Seems my batteries are weaker this year than last...we were riding in snow last year for a couple of hours....didn't seem affected by the cold that much. maybe that's the difference in a year for 2006 batteries. temp is 38 outside..btw. you guys think all this seems normal???? |

Re: no go in cold weather, something not right?
You've got one or more bad batteries. It might just be one, but the pack is 4 years old and it's not good to add a single new battery to 5 older ones. Cold weather or not, you've got some battery issues...
