Default 94 DS 36v Park Brake will not lock in place

Ran a search both on here & google & came up with nothing..
I just brought home my actual "golf" cart as I'm rebuilding the old flat head in my older DS...
MY question...
I got it home & brake was working fine.. I was putting in my floor mat & it got hung up on the pedal cluster, so I pulled it back up & then reinstalled with no problems that I could tell... when done.. my park brake will not engage... I looked both at the cluster & underneath & could find nothing out of place..
Any Ideas...??

maybe you bent the rod that goes from the park pedal down the to pawls. or maybe when you pulled on the mat, it pulled on the rod, and the rod pulled on the pawls, and then the pawl twisted on the mount and doesnt quite align like it used to

CRAP!!
After what you said hornet... about the rod being bent.. I took a closer look & a rock about half the size of a marble (must have been on my mat) lodged it's way into the park brake assembly & was restricting the arm to go all the way up to engage the park brake...
