I think you guys still need a little clarification here. Both the Allsports Super Sport and the 6 & 8" Standard A Arm lift are true A Arm suspensions. There are also many other brands. THEY ARE NOT MEANT TO COMPETE WITH A LONG TRAVEL LIFT.
Heres the differences.

A Spindle lift simply changes the spindles with a longer version of a standard spindle, All other front end parts remain original golf cart parts. Wheel travel is simular to stock

A A Arm lift replaces all the front components except for the shocks. You end up with a brand new front end including new A Arms with all new bushings and pivot points Wheel travel is simular to stock.

A long Travel A Arm lift is also a complete new front end which also has new shocks with coil over springs. They will have 3-4 times the wheel travel of the stock golf cart suspension and provide a far superior ride. Most long travel lifts come with a standard travel rear lift. The reason for this is you can not build a nice soft suspension with several inches of cushy travel and then add a rear seat and put 400 lbs on it and get the same results. Since the most common accessories for a cart is rear seat, They provide parts for standard travel rear lift components.

WHATS IT ALL MEAN????????

Lets say you have a 94 Club Car that you want to lift.

You add a spindle lift, You put 2 new parts on a worn out 16 yr old front end.
or
You add a A Arm lift, You put on a complete new front end with all new bushings and pivot points. You then have a 16 yr old cart that drives like new.
or
You put on A Long Travel A Arm lift, You now have a completely different vehicle cabable of taking on the harshest offroad conditions you can throw at it and still get the ride of a Cadillac on the freeway.

regardless of brand. Its no wonder the spindle lift is the cheapest.
The A Arm lift normally sells for $30-50 More than a spindle lift.
The Long Travel A Arm lift normally starts at about twice the price of a standard A Arm lift.

Just imagine buying one that you don't like, then purchase a second one that you like. Maybe she'll buy into that story?

Tom, I think the whole story started because our original posted was concerned of the stiff / lack of travel in his new lift kit. Unfortunately - either two things happened: 1) his expectations were too high for the kit, or 2) the description may have been mis-interpeted on what the kit actually...

It's had to say?

Cool Re: allsports a-arm suspension mods

Thanks for the replys and education on the matter. I guess i was expecting different results but now see, based on the design, that it is not capable of much more than stock suspension travel. In all actuallity i wanted the results of a true long travel at the cost of the A Arm!!! i just can't believe it didn't work out like i planned(LOL!!) Anyway, my new to me cart is lifted, looks pretty good and goes from point A to Point B. I just need to make sure to not ride in a cart with a true LT kit and I'll be alright.

Now on to the power mods!!!

No problem on the info. Just wanted to clarify it a little. Its all in what you plan to use the cart for. We all agree the Long Travel is the superior design. And everybody would love to get the long travel ride at the price of a A Arm or spindle lift. Will you notice much difference between the three cruzin the neighborhood streets? Not much. Would you notice much difference trail riding or running the dunes? HUGE difference.
The first thing your dealer should ask is, "What do you plan to use the cart for" Thats the best way to make a recommendation.

To get back to your original question. You could remove the upper leaf to soften the ride some, If you have the tools you can also simply cut about 2" off each side of the upper spring to also soften the ride. It willl not increase the travel.

Also I know that is not the picture of your cart, but the one in the pic is not adjusted properly, The wheels are wider at the bottom than the top (not square to the ground) The top heims would need adjusted out until wheels are square to the ground. Also you want toe in set as close to straight as you can get it. Not sure if any of that applies to yours, but the one in pic is not adjusted properly.

Thanks for the help. I think i will try to cut down the top spring a little bit and see how that goes. I can't imagine being able to break spring steel but if it can be done it will happen to me
