Hydrometer
Where can I find a good hydrometer? What kind do I need?
Walmart has a "four ball" type for $1.54 that doesn't appear too reliable... 0 balls = dead 1 ball = 25% 2 balls = 50% etc......... Advance Auto has a needle type for $3.99 that doesn't appear to be much more precise with just a few S/G points along the scale. Any advice would be appreciated. |

Re: Hydrometer
Needles and balls are not very accurate, here's what you need from Ace Hardware, less than $7:

Re: Hydrometer
I think around 500.00 if you order quite a few of them. We have a few of them at my work. We generally replace them every two years. It is cheaper than having them calibrated to meet fed & state standards. Simple to use and extreamly accurate though.
