Re: bypass resistor coils
Give him another beer and tell him he is full of crap
Wot is bypassing all of the coils already. All you would do is eliminate 1st-3rd gear. Touch the gas and you would get WOT only |

Re: bypass resistor coils
Unfortunately speed upgrades in an electric car are anything but inexpensive

Re: bypass resistor coils
It will work for awhile and eventually melt the speed control components.
Unless done properly which is not cheap ..... |

Re: bypass resistor coils
Yea. the old Club car resistor carts aren't the best ones for upgrading to 48 volts without modifications.

Re: bypass resistor coils
Ran mine for a year on 48 volts with the resistor coils, never really had any rough use. Never had a problem but i was waiting for one. Put a pot box and a controller in and eliminated the burning smell. They do run warm on the old system.
