Default Jumpered charger puts out 3 amps?

97 48v powerdrive charger question? We jumpered the relay and it put out 3 amps? I put it back together and jumped the obc, it put out the same 3 amps? Batteries are bad, 7.9 or 8.0 volts each? IS the charger okay? I expected it to go to 15 amps when it was jumped.....New batts are going in but, ... wadda ya think Fixer?

Have you tried to plug the charger into a cart with a good set of batteries just to see how it acts to eliminate that as the problem. Other than that, it could be one bad diode in the charger.

You either have a bad diode or the transformer is bad.

So........ nobody thinks that it could be a bad obc? New batteries. Low battery light comes on when cart is run.... and charger will not come on when plugged in. When jumped charger puts out 3 amps?

So you are also saying that the relay does not click when you plug it in.

I missed the part about "new batteries installed" sorry, it was a late night. My next concern would be 7.9 or 8.0 volts on new batteries. That's not cool.
Was the 3/8ths amp fuse blown? A power strike such as lighting that is strong enough to take out that fuse can also take out the OBC. I would still try the charger on another cart before I changed the OBC though. If that cant be done then mabye try another known working charger on your cart.

I am pretty sure the charger's problem is in the flux capacitor
I have another charger coming late today..... I will have some more info later... Roady sent me googling around for transformer and capacitor tests... So I will post what I find ...
I truely suspect this poor cart has a bad obc and bad charger .... did I mention the bad batteries? Ouch!
